The BronxCare Pre-Med Fellowship Orthopaedic Surgery
Pre-meds! Get ready for the most transformative summer of your college career! The BronxCare Pre-Med Fellowship in New York City.
A fully immersive 8-week program sponsored by the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at BronxCare Health System in the South Bronx.
We should probably have called this The BronxCare PreMed Fellowship in Doctoring, Mentoring, Research, and Healthcare Delivery Using Orthopaedic Surgery as the Vehicle but that seemed too long of a name.

“The community that BronxCare Health System serves represents about 30 million people. We had a vision that if we could engineer the combination of both primary care orthopedics and access to specialty care here, not only would we solve the problem for our own community — which is our primary focus — but maybe we could also start answering some difficult questions that would be transferable to other parts of the country.”
– Ira Kirschenbaum, M.D., Chair of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at BronxCare Health System
